I think it would not be justified.
Animal psychology and behavior are studied by experiments and observations in order to elucidate the (mind) of the human spirit. As one could see, the experiments tend to be meaningless and cruel. Experiments which cannot be done with human beings are done using animals, and the results are applied to humans.
